About Help4Party
Help4Party is a free resource for people who make nights happen: bedroom DJs taking their first steps, hosts planning a birthday or a house party, and anyone who wants to hire a DJ without guessing what to ask. We publish practical guides and simple tools so you can spend less time worrying about the details and more time enjoying the music.
What you will find here
- Guides on DJing and mixing: beatmatching, phrasing, harmonic mixing, transitions and how to build a set that suits the room.
- Music and tempo explainers: BPM, genres, keys and the numbers behind delay times and phrase lengths.
- Party planning: checklists, drinks and budget planning, playlists, sound and light basics.
- Booking a DJ: what to agree on, what to put in writing and how to read a DJ rider.
- Free tools: a BPM tapper, an interactive Camelot wheel, a DJ set planner and a party drinks calculator.
How we write
Every article aims to answer one clear question as directly as possible, then go into the detail you need to act on it: steps, examples, checklists and common mistakes.
- No invented numbers. We do not quote studies, statistics or prices we cannot back up. When we use numbers, they are worked examples or clearly marked rules of thumb that you can adjust.
- No product placement. We explain types of equipment and what to look for instead of pushing specific brands or models.
- General, not professional advice. Topics like contracts, noise rules, licensing or alcohol laws differ by country and city. We keep them general and point you to local rules or a qualified professional.
- Responsible about alcohol. Our party content assumes guests of legal drinking age, good non-alcoholic options, food, free water and a safe way home for everyone.
- Kept up to date. When we revise an article in a meaningful way, we show the update date at the top.
Our tools run in your browser
All Help4Party tools are calculated locally on your device. Nothing you enter, tap or select is sent to a server, and no account is needed. The BPM tapper does not use your microphone; it only measures the time between your taps.
Languages
The site is written in English first and is being translated into German, French and Spanish. Translations are localised rather than translated word for word, so examples and units fit the reader.
